Large Flower Garden Planter
This great looking flower planters design came from the mind of one of my regular clients. She wanted a patio planter box and had a vision, but was limited on patio space. We designed this box to surround and overlap the patio on two sides but was set back built over the lawn on the outer two sides.
This project started by digging out the sod from under the footings, then using gravel to level out the blocks under our legs. The entire structure was built from dimensional pressure treated lumber and anchored together using strong tie connectors and fasteners.
The interior of this planter was lined with corrugated metal. Holes were drilled throughout the bottom sheets for drainage. Lathing strips were then used to fir out past the strong tie anchors so it could be sheeted with exterior grade pressure treated plywood.
The sheeting on the exterior of this planter has now been covered with large metal panels. Then a 6 inch cedar trim and cap was installed to finish it all off. Check back in the spring for more vibrant and colorful new photos to see just how much it transformed this patio area.
